MultiSensor 6 – The new detector from Aeon Labs

MultiSensor 6 is the new Z-wave detector from the brand Aeon Labs. Its special feature: combining six different sensors into one single sensor!

MultiSensor 6 is therefore a motion sensor, a temperature sensor, a light sensor, a humidity sensor, a vibration sensor and a UV sensor. The whole is contained in a small square box measuring 42 mm side. Encrypted to AES-128 bit standards for optimal security, its wireless signals can reach 150 meters and are 250% faster than those of the old model. On the autonomy side, this sensor is equipped with two CR123A batteries, and would have an autonomy of two years …

Personally, I love it! Its small size and square shape will allow it to integrate easily into your interior. It is even possible to fit it into a false ceiling. The Multisensor Gen5, which I have at health home, was already fairly reasonable in size and round in shape.

Let's come back to its functionality. Its motion sensor can detect an individual at 5 meters and has a 120-degree field of vision. The range of action of its temperature sensor ranges from -40 ° C to + 125 ° C with precision. The humidity sensor, especially useful in the kitchen, cellar or bathroom, will tell you precisely the humidity level of the room and can, for example, trigger your VMC.

Its light detector will be useful when it comes to reducing your energy expenditure by turning off those lights that you never think of turning off; even in the middle of the day. If you place it on a door or window, its vibration detector will warn you of an attempted break-in. Finally, the UV probe will measure the ultraviolet rays of the sun and will, for example, open or close your blinds, shutters or curtains.
