Nest Cam Outdoor finally revealed!

Finally ! Nest Cam Outdoor has been unveiled by Alphabet! But then, what differences does she have with her little sister Nest Cam indoor? Decryption!

Nest Cam Outdoor has a 130 degree field of view and is, of course, weather resistant. In fact, to be precise, it's not just the weatherproof camera. The main part has an IP65 protection index. The cables and adapters have an IP67 protection rating; they are therefore strong enough to survive submersion in water for half an hour.

Speaking of cables and there are two. We have a 3.5m USB cable that has a waterproof connector and a 4m power cable. With these two cables, we therefore have a combined length of 7.5m. A length that offers a multitude of installation options for users.

If you don't have an external power supply, you don't need to drill into your wall. Obviously, if you prefer this solution, Nest has thought of everything. The company offers a list of professionals to carry out this installation. The nice thing is that you don’t have to worry about the exact direction of the device when you attach it. The connection is made with a very strong magnet with a tilt of 360 degrees.

But let's get back to the camera. It offers Full HD 1080p ehealth recording, night vision and the ability to listen and speak. Of course, it syncs with the Nest app. By the way the app has been updated lately. Many features have been added. These updates allow in particular to refine the motion detection. They also allow you to switch from Presence to Absence mode.

When it comes to price, Nest Cam Outdoor costs the same as the indoor version; or 199 euros. A very good news ! In general, outdoor cameras are much more expensive.
