Nex Band – A modular smart health bracelet at 150 dollars

Nex Band is a small modular smart health connected bracelet that will allow you to control your smarthome. Currently being funded on Indiegogo, it is available from 150 dollars for a shipment planned from June 2016.

Nex Band has five "Mods" that can be programmed to trigger music, take selfies, control your health home, etc. Compatible with IFTTT, so you can program that when you open your garage door, your Hue bulbs will light up. The bracelet will also allow you to create personalized recipes, called “Hacks”, via its smartphone application. You can for example use all the mods of the bracelet to control your music (play, pause, volume up / down).

The mods themselves can also be easily removed and swapped with friends for sharing photos and other files, for playing, etc. As Mods have unique identifiers, they can become little characters, weapons, etc. The bracelet can also become a five-key gamepad.

Made of polycarbonate, the bracelet is available in two sizes and two colors (black and cream) at the moment. For the moment, this small smart health connected bracelet is only compatible with iOs. It should be compatible with Android next October. Finally, the battery life is quite decent but not spectacular since it is 3 to 5 days.
