Nike to launch lace-up shoes in 2020

For everyone who missed it, October 21, 2020 was a special day. In the second film in the Back to the Future trilogy, Marty gave us a glimpse of the future. If several things have unfortunately not (yet) been achieved, smart shoes that get bored alone will become a reality with Nike!

If in 2011 the equipment manufacturer unveiled its futuristic MAG sneakers, they did not use technology allowing the shoes to lace up automatically. But that will change and Return to the Future aficionados can boast from spring 2020 to wear Marty McFly pumps.

The sneakers are already well hidden from the eyes of the public in New York in the offices of Nike. No indication has yet been given on the price, nevertheless it would seem that these shoes will be sold at auction for the benefit of the Michael J. Fox foundation for research on Parkinson's disease. The technology used to allow sneakers to lace up on their own is still in the early stages, but Nike would already start to think about its use to equip certain sports shoes.
