The Carat Pro, developed by Fiil Technology, are very promising smart health connected headphones. According to their manufacturer, these are the first headphones offering precise monitoring of statistics related to physical activity, a coaching functionality, and a nine-hour autonomy. This is not the first time that headphones have offered activity tracking. The Jabra Sport Pulse, to name just one of the best known, already offers similar functionality. However, the Carat’s autonomy propels them far above the competition.

These smart headphones come in two versions: the Carat and the Carat Pro. Both models offer real-time coaching. However, only Carat Pro offers cardiac activity tracking, activity selection, and other handy and expertly designed options.

Activity monitoring and control of music broadcasting

In addition to measuring heart rate, Carat Pro offers in particular 4GB of storage space, and a voice search feature to select songs. They also measure VO2, speed, and distance traveled. All these functions are sorely lacking in the second model.

In terms of activities, Carat Pro tracks running, cycling, weight lifting, yoga and more. Only downside, they are resistant to splashes, but not waterproof. Therefore, no need to think about using them during your swimming sessions.

Carat Pro: price and availability

The Carat Pro crowdfunding campaign launched on Kickstarter will end in 32 days. The project has already raised more than 22,000 dollars on a target set at 50,000 dollars. More than 173 contributors participated in the funding.

For a contribution of 59 dollars, it is possible to receive a pair of Carat by achieving a saving of 40% compared to the retail price of 99 dollars. For Carat Pro, it will be necessary to participate up to 160 dollars, which represents a saving of 32% compared to the commercial price of 249 dollars. If the campaign is successful, deliveries will start from June 2020. The time between the start of the project, dated February 2020, and the delivery date, is much lower than most crowdfunding projects.
