Oddballs – The smart health connected ball that composes music

Oddballs was created by graduates of the Royal College of Art in London. Their objective: to make musical creation accessible to all.

Oddball consists of two parts: a colored pressure-sensitive ball that acts as a percussion trigger for an iOS / Android application smart health connected by Bluetooth. The app hosts "expansive audio libraries" that allow players to create bouncing beats. They can also be used to record, loop and play beats, mix with your favorite songs, and allow beatmakers to share their creations.

Sounds are transmitted through a portable speaker or headphones smart health connected to the smart device running the application. The smart health connected ball designed by Nathan Webb and Pasquale Totaro is water resistant; and planned to take shots. Its protective core houses the electronics. The battery is also contained in an outer shell made of resistant polyurethane. This built-in battery can run for six hours on a single charge.

To create different sounds, you can throw it against a wall, throw it in the air or tap it. The more the ball bounced, the more intense the sound. The system allows multiple Oddballs to be used simultaneously and can be used as a Bluetooth MIDI controller.
