ODG smelled the right move and decided to adapt its R7 augmented reality smartglasses so that Pokémon trainers can use them during their long hours of hunting.

Obviously, the company is not trying it out since AR smartglasses and AR software are two of their specialties. The vice president of the company Nima Shams explains that it was by seeing one of its developers playing the game that they had this idea. "Some of us love to play Pokémon Go. The game is out, and we had the idea of ​​adapting our smart glasses to play it. "

But not everything is as simple, some adjustments had to be made. Since the game was released a few weeks ago, the issues encountered were resolved fairly quickly. “The biggest obstacle was that Pokémon Go was to play in portrait mode. However, our glasses use a portrait display to be more immersive. The second obstacle was that the glasses did not have a touch screen. This problem has been resolved by adding a full cycle controller that detects movements and gestures. " In short, thanks to these glasses, the experience promises to be even more immersive.

However, a word of warning: to play Pokémon Go with the R7, you need a Wi-Fi Internet connection.
