Olio – A smartwatch against obsolescence

Olio is a brand created by Steven Jacobs, a former designer from Apple and HP. The latter decided to create a quality smartwatch that will last more than a season.

Olio Model One, is a smartwatch with a crystal display and a solid steel case. It will be offered in two versions: Olio Black Collection at $ 745 and Olio Steel Collection at $ 545. This smart health connected watch uses its own operating system and is compatible with both Android smartphones and iOS smartphones.

This operating system is directly inspired by the memo system used by President Obama. The assistant, Olio Assist, will even make smart suggestions like ordering an Uber if you're late for a meeting. To save battery, most of the processing is done in the cloud.

In order not to overload the screen of the smartwatch with various and varied notifications, the watch software will focus on the people with whom the user interacts the most. These notifications are displayed using lines to avoid any digital overload.

Olio also aims to be a durable watch, a watch that we keep. A strategy opposite to that used for smart health connected watches currently on the market. The brand could also launch a smartphone, shortly, on the same principle.

The Olio smartwatch will launch this summer, and it will be limited to 1,000 to start with. Look :
