During CES 2014, which took place in Las Vegas in early January, the French start-up Kolibree took the lead on the toothbrush giant Oral-B by presenting the first smart health connected brush. During the MWC 2014 in Barcelona, Oral-B (which has belonged to the Procter & Gamble group since 2005) also formalized the launch of its own, from June – against the 3rd quarter of 2014 for Kolibree. Oral-B SmartSeries, an “interactive” toothbrush

Advertised as an "interactive" toothbrush, it can transmit a certain amount of valuable information to a smartphone (iOS or Android) via a Bluetooth 4.0 connection. Via graphs, it will be possible to measure the time of brushing, the pressure exerted on the teeth (and the gums) or the cleaning of the tongue. This information can then be shown to the doctor, who can then adapt his oral advice. But the application of this smart health connected toothbrush does not stop there: it is also possible for the user to configure brushing himself according to one of the 6 pre-defined modes, via the mobile application: daily cleaning, deep cleaning, whitening, gum care, sensitive and tongue cleaning.
