Thanks to artificial intelligence, the Kaizn app adapts to the habits and environment of the person to know his preferences and automatically adjust the hearing instruments for an optimal sound experience. This app is smart health connected to Oticon Opn smart health connected hearing aids and has been awarded 2 times at CES 2019!

After developing Opn (the world’s first hearing aid smart health connected to the Internet), the Danish company Oticon revolutionizes the field of hearing health with the Kaizn application and pushes the limits of the capabilities of a hearing aid. Indeed, just as Spotify suggests new songs according to the listening behavior of the user, artificial intelligence integrated in the application Kaizn adapts to the habits and the environment of the person, to know his preferences according to a particular sound context and automatically adjusts hearing aids for an optimal sound experience.

Oticon Kaizn has also been awarded the CES 2019 Best of Innovation Award in the Software & Mobile Applications category, and is also named CES Innovation Honoree winner in the Technology for a Better World category. This AI-based innovation is the culmination of the promise of personalized, human-centered hearing health for thousands of hearing aid users around the world.

Kaizn collects and analyzes data on the use of Opn’s hearing aids and listening environments, in order to understand its behaviors and hearing preferences and ultimately offer real-time recommendations and adjustments. This tool with artificial intelligence communicates with users at key moments to learn their intention or purpose, according to different sound environments. For example, the application Kaizn is able to recognize when the user enters a noisy environment (in a restaurant for example), and asks the user via a notification if he needs “concentration” or “Comfort” in this environment. Thereafter, KaiznTM will adjust the parameters of the hearing instrument according to this preference. Over time, it can automate changes through user feedback and validation; and can automatically adjust the settings of the Opn hearing aid as soon as the user enters a similar noisy environment.
