Pebble Health gets a makeover

Today, Pebble Health, the activity and fitness tracker of the eponymous brand, is undergoing a massive update to give you an even more complete picture of your health.

After years spent in the shadow of smartwatches and other star sports trackers, Pebble had finally introduced its own product last December. Simply named Pebble Health, this fitness tracker tracks your activities, both in sport and in sleep. It also contains an integrated coaching system to motivate you. So what does this Pebble Health update bring?

Improved follow-up to motivate us

Pebble Health is still tracking your walking and sleeping patterns, but a new health section has been organized, offering the possibility of compare your activity and sleep levels with those of the previous days, weeks or months. In addition, daily summaries your walking and your sleep are suggested, useful to know if your fitness plan is working or not.

The new update should also appeal to runners, with Pebble Health now automatically detecting whether the user is running or walking, based on their movements. The application will then give you advice that is intended to be useful and suited to the activity in progress. An alarm function is also offered.

Pebble Health is not the only Pebble app to update. The other updates contain an SMS response option for iOS. This function already existed for Android users, but now, regulars of iPhone will be able to take advantage of the option too. You will now be able to use the application Send text (send message) to reply to your SMS, short answer or voice note, provided you have a Pebble Time series smartwatch.

Despite this, the update of Pebble Health is the one that gets the most attention. It remains to be seen whether this will encourage users of smartwatches to adopt Pebble, which suffers from competition from the giants Apple and Samsung, like most activity trackers on the market.
