Pebble Time Steel finally unveiled

Pebble Time Steel has finally been unveiled. Finally, a beautiful Pebble smartwatch! The Pebble Time revealed on Kickstarter had exploded the scores but personally I found it a bit cheap.

Pebble Time Steel offers slightly more noble materials. In steel, as its name suggests, it is offered at $ 249 with a leather bracelet and $ 299 with a steel bracelet. If you want them, they are now available for pre-order for delivery in six to eight weeks. If I find the price a little high for the product, it must be admitted that the steel finish of the watch has much more style than the plastoc version previously proposed. As a reminder, Pebble Time was offered at $ 179 for pre-order.

In terms of features, you will have little or nothing new compared to Pebble Time. Only its display and battery life have been improved. To be precise, the screen is a small 64-color LCD screen with a limited palette and (too) soft colors.

Well, you will understand, I find this watch beautiful but too expensive. Plus, I expected a little more than a simple aesthetic upgrade from the previous version. I want to tell you that Pebble should have released both versions at the same time. We have the impression that Pebble Time is a version for children and Pebble Time Steel a version for adults. In addition, at this price, I prefer to buy a "real" smartwatch a hundred times: a smartwatch with many more features. I would even be willing to spend an extra $ 100 to buy an LG Watch Urban or a Moto 360, which has been costing a lot less since its price drop.

In short, I am very disappointed. Hopefully Pebble is raising the bar for its next installment!
