Philips SmartSleep intensifies deep sleep phases

Philips SmartSleep detects delta waves and amplifies them
When we wear the Philips SmartSleep headband while asleep, a forehead sensor and an ear sensor detect the activities of so-called delta waves that occur in deep sleep phases. A newly developed algorithm then provides for the amplification of the frequencies (sleep boosts). While the sensor measures sleep data on the forehead, the sensor on the ear amplifies the delta waves. So deep sleep phases should be extended and the recovery effect be increased.
The app helps to better classify and optimize your own sleep behavior
(Philips)
In the morning, the SmartSleep headband is smart health connected to the associated SleepMapper app via WiFi / Bluetooth to evaluate the data. An internet connection during the night is not necessary. When asked, Jeannine Kritsch, Head of Consumer Communication at Philips, told us that even an app could be used without an app. This is not sensible.
Who is SmartSleep suitable for?
Philips recommends that healthy people between the ages of 18 and 50 use the Sleep Improvement Gadget. For sleep disorders, however, the manufacturer advises against the use. So far, the device can only promote sleep, but (still) do not treat sleeping disorders.
