To support medical students in their training, DMD Health offers a collaborative platform: Stagium. Presentation.
To respond to the requests of medical students on the evaluation of internships, DMD Health provides a digital platform at the service of experience sharing between students: Stagium.com
By combining factual assessment and a collaborative approach to the evaluation of medical internships, Stagium gives medical students the power to build tailor-made medical training. At the origin of the project, Dr Nicolas Lafferre, general practitioner and co-founder of dmd Santé: " when I was a medical student, I quickly realized that it was not easy to find the internship that perfectly suited my expectations ".
Faced with this assessment, the idea germinated to develop a platform in order to consult, before choosing an internship, the opinions of students (external and internal) who completed their internship in a particular service.
The principle is simple: medical students and interns assess the workload, the atmosphere and the training of internships carried out as part of their medical studies. Free comments are also posted. The evaluation is anonymized and joins all the opinions of the community, which can be consulted at any time to choose with knowledge your next internship.
All fields of medical internship can be assessed on Stagium: clinical or hospital internship (in CHU or private clinic), general medical internship (Level 1 and Ambulatory Internship in Primary Care in Supervised Autonomy or SASPAS), internship outside of care (public health, occupational medicine).
A tool for internship managers
Stagium is also a practical tool for those responsible for hospital internship sites. An opinion shared by Pr Gyan, Head of Cancerology – Hematology Cell Therapy (HTC) at the Tours Hospital Center. "It is only by exchanging, and sharing your feelings and opinions that things can move forward. Stagium allows this"He says.
The evaluation of internship sites represents an essential approach to highlight areas for improvement and ultimately optimize the internship. "The evaluation of internships allows us to better guide our choices. This allows you to find out the opinion of interns who have already experienced them in order to have an idea of the quality of the internship, whether in terms of training or in terms of quality of life at work.”Confirms François Krabansky, president of the Board of Interns of Reims Champagne-Ardenne.
The users are spread across France, and represent large student communities (internal and external). A genuine participative process, interns communicate via the platform. They follow a common objective: to enrich the Stagium database.
Kristen Joseph-Delaffon, extern in medicine at the CHU of Tours goes further: ”Assessment is one way to make a difference. Indeed, some services do not necessarily make an effort to welcome students or do not realize the points that they could improve. Stagium therefore allows us to highlight the sides of the internships to improve but also the sides to keep and therefore to arrive at more training internships".
The internship evaluations allow the following promotions to choose their internships knowingly. Interns freshly assigned to their positions orient themselves in their new environment thanks to the returns.
"Stagium is both objectifying hospital internships, allowing their manager to improve and capitalizing on their strengths, but it is also and above all allowing each medical and internal student to participate in building tomorrow's medicine”Concludes Dr Nicolas Laferre of dmd Santé.
