Pont Hue 2.0 from Philips will be compatible with HomeKit
The new Philips Hue 2.0 Bridge is now compatible with Apple HomeKit. Unfortunately, users who already have Hue products from Philips will have to buy a new brand bridge because the old Hue bridge will never be compatible with HomeKit.
The Philips Hue 2.0 Bridge is for you if you are a user of iOS products and want to install smart health connected devices at health home. With HomeKit, you can control HomeKit compatible devices using Siri and group them. For example, you can group your garage door and a light bulb so that the light bulb turns on or off every time you open or close your garage door.
At the moment, the Philips Hue app only supports the Siri part, but that may change with the future software update. To date, the manufacturers of HomeKit-compatible devices are: ecobee3, Elgato, iHome, Insteon, Lutron, iDevices and Schlage. Other manufacturers are still working on their products and / or software.
But back to our new bridge. After installing the new Hue 2.0 bridge, update the app and you can ask Siri to customize your lights; to change the intensity, the color, etc. The Hue 2.0 bridge costs $ 60, but those who already have Hue products can buy it with a $ 20 discount. It will be available on October 6 alone or in a pack with Hue bulbs.
The existing bridge does not work with HomeKit due to hardware limitations. The new bridge has no additional features, but still offers a new design in the form of a smartphone app icon. On the light bulbs side, some improvements. The color bulbs are a little brighter (800 lumens instead of 600 lumens). White bulbs are also brighter, going from 750 lumens to 800 lumens. Finally, the LightStrip has also been updated. Finally, I don't know why, but the internal storage of the bulbs has been increased.
