Quell relieves muscle pain

Quell is a device that fits into a classic sports bandage. This contains an electrode which, thanks to transcutaneous simulation, emits pulses in order to relieve chronic pain.

Your physiotherapist in a box

It is common for an athlete to go to his physiotherapist to make electrode sessions due to muscle pain or tendonitis due to intensive activity. With Quell, it's like your practitioner ended up in a small case, so no need to go to a medical center and sit for 1 hour with electrodes stuck on the skin. This one fits in a classic headband and is worn on the calf.

Relieve any chronic pain

Once applied to the skin, the electrode sends electrical signals in order to stimulate peripheral nerves. These are transmitted until Cerebral cortex which then produces endogenous opioid peptides and therefore releases endorphins in the spinal cord in order to ease the pain, And this all over the body. So you can wear your headband on your calf and relieve the pain present throughout your body. Quell works for all kinds of troubles, including the diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, sciatica or osteoarthritis. The whole process has been validated by the American FDA. When in use, a slight vibration / pressure is felt where the electrode is placed.

Quell also allows promote and track your sleep. Certain pains can cause you prevent sleep, the device being able to attenuate them, so you can rest more easily. You got it, Quell is not just a gadget for sportsmen as can be found in specialized stores, it is a device incorporating a real digest of neurotechnology.

Manage everything from your smartphone

The box connects by Bluetooth to your smartphone, and an application allows calibrate and configure stimulation programs depending on the origin of the type of pain, its use (sport, sleep, casual …) and the objective. For example, if you decide to use it to sleep better, vibrations due to stimulation will be very low so as not to disturb you. In addition, the device will analyze your sleep cycle and will inform you of its quality via the app. So you will know the time spent in your bed, the time it took you to fall asleep, etc. The Quell can also be 100% autonomous, a button allows you to start it. However, without the app you will not be able to follow your therapy or have access to different programs.

To launch this project, a crowdfunding campaign was launched on Indiegogo March 2. Which has already harvested over $ 282,000 (265,000 €) on a basic objective of $ 100,000, or 282% of it. For $ 199 (186 €), you can order your Quell with its headband and electrodes for one month. Because yes, the electrodes must be changed regularly (you just have to unclip the old ones and clip the new ones instead), every two weeks on average. The month pack contains two electrodes and costs $ 30 (28 €). So even if there is no subscription per se, you will have to pay $ 30 monthly for regular use. For $ 20 (€ 18) you can also order an additional headband. Once pre-orders are completed, the Quell will cost $ 250 (€ 235), or $ 50 more, so you might as well buy it now if you are tempted.
