After having caused a sensation at CES 2014 with its Nabu, Razer, specialist in Gaming, comes back to the charge at this edition of 2015 and presents the Nabu X, a low-cost edition of its smart health connected bracelet.
The Nabu X will be available at $ 49.99, but its capacities are more limited than its elder. Assuring the role of activity tracker, it also offers social interactions between its owners and obviously allows view its notifications. But, unlike the Nabu which offers an OLED screen, the second bracelet from Razer is equipped with 3 LEDs colored notification buttons. A vibrator announces the arrival of a notification and the color (configurable) of the flashing LED specifies its type. A accelerometer, coupled with "optimized" algorithms, tracks user activity. You can also give yourself goals and be notified when you reach them. As on the original Nabu, it is possible to make a notification disappear by shaking the arm. A pedometer and one calorimeter are in the game.
As with Sony watches, the module is detachable of the bracelet to be able to change it easily; indeed, 3 colors are available: black, green, and white. The structure is in rubber flexible and water resistant (IP 67), and its unique format can be adapted to all wrists. Li-Po battery holds 5 to 7 days and thirty on standby.
The Nabu MarketPlace, available on iOS and Android, offers applications compatible with the Nabu, which connect via Bluetooth LE.
A special offer at $ 19.99 will be available to fan members of the “Razer Insider” from January 13.
