release date, price, specifications and features
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy health home, its first product in the smart speaker segment. Release date, price, specifications and features, I'll tell you everything. The Galaxy health home smart speaker is a device powered by Bixby and intended to compete with Google health home; but also the Amazon Echo and the Apple HomePod. It incorporates Samsung’s virtual assistant, also serves as a smart health home hub and can be used to stream your favorite tunes.
Samsung Galaxy health home: Design
It should not be denied that the Galaxy health home looks a lot like the Google health home or the Apple HomePod; but with legs. It is covered with a black textured fabric and three silver spikes sticking out from the bottom of the device. Samsung said it was heavy enough not to tip too easily. On the smart health connected speaker are also buttons, indicator lights in the shape of a subtle gray ring at the top (not much different from Echo), and even a small, shiny AKG logo.
And yes, Samsung is further amortizing its acquisition by injecting knowledge from Harman's AKG. Samsung said it was going to "make music amazing sound." But it's not a speaker that you can carry with you on the go; because it’s attached by a power cable. We do not yet know the exact dimensions of the product; and we don't have more details on the materials used. I got the feeling that Samsung was not really ready to reveal its speaker. It seems to be more of a "demo" object that was presented yesterday.
Samsung Galaxy health home: Specifications
Galaxy health home hardware
The Samsung Galaxy health home speaker is designed to provide surround sound. It has six built-in speakers and a subwoofer. The smart speaker also has eight far-field microphones to detect voice commands. Aside from that, there is not much other information available.
Smart health home and Galaxy health home
Samsung has confirmed, however, that the Galaxy health home will replace Samsung's SmartThings hub for intelligent health home control. A very good idea !
Bixby and Galaxy health home
The flat top of the device has control buttons to skip music tracks and vary the volume. And there is no auxiliary input. But, like most smart speakers, you can start listening to music on your phone and easily send it to the Galaxy health home. You can also control music with Bixby. Besides, Samsung has spent a lot of time talking about Bixby; which is not as powerful, let's say, as the Google Assistant.
You will be able to say "Hi Bixby" to access the Samsung Assistant and ask it many things you can already do on Samsung phones.
Music and Galaxy health home
Amazon Echo at Amazon Music. Apple has Apple Music. And Google has YouTube Music and Google Play Music. But Samsung will just use Spotify. The brand has signed a long-term partnership with the company. It plans to integrate it into its Galaxy range, but also many of its other products; even refrigerators.
Samsung Galaxy health home: release date
Samsung is not yet ready to launch the speaker. The South Korean brand will reveal this information at another press conference.
Samsung Galaxy health home: Price
Again, this is information that we do not have. For comparison, the Apple HomePod costs $ 349 in the United States; while the Google health home Max costs $ 399. Finally, Amazon only asks for 150 dollars for its Echo Plus. Personally, I think Samsung will launch this speaker at around $ 350.
Updated 07/10/2019:
Still no Samsung Galaxy health home in the third quarter of this year. Samsung's third financial quarter ended September 30. In April, Samsung CEO Hyun-suk Kim (head of the company's consumer electronics division) told the Korea Herald that the speakerphone launch is slated for "mid-second half". According to other Samsung executives, this launch window has been widely interpreted to mean that it will be launched in the third quarter of the year.
This is just one of many Galaxy health home release dates, which were first announced in August 2018. In February, the company announced that the Galaxy health home would be launched in April, but then announced that the speaker’s release was still scheduled “in the first half of 2019.”
The situation was further complicated at the end of August when Samsung quietly announced a second Galaxy health home speaker called Galaxy health home Mini; and invited owners of Galaxy smartphones in South Korea to sign up for beta testing of the new smart speaker. At the time, the brand made no reference to its original smart speaker.
The company's last comment dates back to August, after the speaker did not announce when the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 was launched. At the time, the company announced that it "continues to refine and improve the Galaxy health home before launch and hoped to be able to share more with Galaxy fans soon. ”
