Report: Apple Watch 2 will be released in September

The tech blog 9to5Mac reports that new models of the Apple smartwatch will be presented in March. However, the Apple Watch 2 should not come until September.

As the tech blog 9to5Mac claims to have learned, Apple will present a new line-up of its Apple Watch at its event in March. In future, the wearable will be available with new bracelets in new colors and materials. On the software side, Apple is to publish the final version of WatchOS 2.2 – among other things with the option of being able to pair several iPhones with one watch and new functions in the Maps app.

9to5Mac assumes that nothing changes on the hardware side of the new Apple Watch models. The second generation of the iWatch should not go on sale until autumn, the official presentation of the gadget will take place at an event in September.

As part of the launch of the new Apple Watch models in March, Apple will also be presenting new iPhones – for example the 4-inch device that has been bubbling around in the rumor mill for a while. In the meantime, the tech press has agreed that the cell phone will be called iPhone 5se. On recently leaked picture should already allow a first look at the smartphone.

The report mentions the iPad Air 3 and other iPad versions with the code names iPad 6.3 and iPad 6.4 as further potential candidates for a display in March. According to an iOS app developer, these have been in the Review phase since November last year. So far there is no more precise information about these tablets.
