Amazfit presented two new smart health connected watches at CES 2020: the T-Rex and Bip S. The first is ultra-resistant for the more athletic, and the second is light and thin to match any outfit.

If the Consumer Electronic Show is often noted for its announcements of devices taking a certain place between TV and computers, simpler and lighter tech products also have their place. And small builders too, of course.

Casually, Amazfit had a great presence at the show. As a bonus to the Zenbuds and PowerBuds headphones, it adds two new smart health connected watches to its range that we had already heard about before: the T-Rex and the Bip S.

Amazfit Bip S announced at CES 2020

First let’s start with the Bip S. Redesign of a previously known model, it is a smart health connected watch whose main goal is to remain discreet and design to be able to match all types of outfits.

As a result, it weighs only 31 grams (strap included) and sports a design that… is reminiscent of the Apple Watch, it is undeniable, which is after all at the heart of trends in the watch market. However, unlike its high-end competitor, it promises a battery life of up to 40 days.

This new model also incorporates a GPS so that you can take advantage of a step-by-step GPS, as well as a PPG “BioTracker” which will analyze your heart rate. All basic health monitoring functions are available on this one.

Powered by Amazfit OS, it is compatible with Android (5.0 or +) and iOS / 10 or +) and recharges thanks to a magnetic dock. Its touch screen will allow you to read your notifications and respond to them easily, as a bonus of course to consult some basic information such as the weather and to launch a dozen fitness programs.

The Amazfit Bip S will be available during the month of February, priced at $ 70. It will be released in 4 colors: two-tone orange (watch) and blue (bracelet), black, white and pale pink.

Amazfit T-Rex unveiled at CES 2020

The Amazfit T-Rex is no longer of the same ilk. Forget the deal with outfits and trends, here it will be more about resisting the most terrible nature can inflict.

The T-Rex is above all a sports watch dedicated to more outdoor practices. Thus, it is resistant to temperatures up to 70 ° C and -40 ° C, humidity up to 240 hours and acidic or salty liquids up to 96 hours. It also shows in its very military appearance with metal buttons.

Still a technically well-developed watch, with a 1.3-inch AMOLED screen and a battery promising 20 days of autonomy in conventional use. It too is equipped with a high precision GPS, but this time can dive up to 50 meters and has 14 sports modes in accordance with its new capabilities. The same “BioTracker” sensor is responsible for determining your physical health.

The Amazfit T-Rex will hit the market during the month of January, and will sell for around $ 140. Its five colors speak for themselves: gun gray, stone black, camouflage green, army green and… khaki. Just khaki? It’s almost disappointing.
