Ring fit adventure review -SPORT AT HOME WITH FUN
Who says sport at home often says boredom and lack of motivation! Indeed, it is not always easy to motivate yourself in front of your tablet or TV to follow exercises in videos. Nintendo offers us a game that combines fun and sport through its Ring Fit! I got it at Christmas and have been using it for a few weeks so I thought it might be interesting for me to tell you about it in detail and especially to give you our Ring fit adventure review !
FITNESS AT HOME? THIS IS POSSIBLE WITH RING FIT ON SWITCH!
First of all, let’s talk about my sports “profile”. It is really complicated. I don’t like sports very much, I get bored quickly, I’m not very resilient and I have weakness in my right knee so I cannot do anything. Add a little overweight which makes me run out of breath quite quickly and which penalizes me in certain sports, you have more or less an overview of where I am going!
The only sporting activities I enjoy is going to the pool and therefore swimming or whatever can be done in the water (and it’s better for the joints so great!) And running! The problem is that going to the swimming pool at home is not the easiest (so I go there but only occasionally) and run, given my knee problem: I must avoid. It is for these reasons that I wanted to try out the Ring Fit at home. So now let’s review what this original “game” offers!
→ What is Ring Fit on Switch?
Ring Fit Adventure is a sports video game that can be used on Switch (and only on TV, it is not possible to play on the console in “portable” mode or on the Switch Lite!). Fitness is in the spotlight in this title with different modes of training and play. Ring Fit is therefore the successor of the Wii Fit in “more cardio” I would say.
→ What equipment is essential to use Ring Fit?
The first thing: you need the Switch console (not the Lite, the normal one I repeat!) And a TV! Then, the “little” basic hardware is provided with the game (which explains its price a little higher than other games on Switch). In the box you therefore have the cartridge to play, the strap that is positioned on the leg and the Ring Con (ring). In addition to these “basics” I still recommend that you take water and a light mat alongside you for certain floor exercises (it’s more comfortable). Do not ignore sportswear either and put on sneakers, it is not because you are at home that you are playing with your safety (and the exercises will be much more enjoyable to do with good conditions).
Now let’s move on to the different game modes offered by the Ring Fit on Switch!
→ The “Adventure” mode:
This is the actual game of the Ring Fit program, a real game with levels, quests, objectives, enemies and a “boss” to beat. This mode mixes muscle strengthening, endurance and cardio and rises “crescendo” in intensity. All along the route you have to “walk” (by jogging or sprinting then later you will see you have other modes of movement) in settings worthy of a “classic” video game to collect coins but also beat different opponents whose level increases over time.
In this mode you are always guided, the exercises are well explained and it is accessible to everyone without problem although the level increases in intensity over time (even my children play it sometimes!).
The advantages of this Adventure mode are its lifespan (there are more than twenty levels to unlock, i.e. at least 100 chapters in the game in all) and the fact that we do exercise without s ‘realize it! It’s playful, fun and you can act on the intensity. There are lots of things that can be added (smoothies to recover life, different modes for attacks, etc…). This is a really cool mode that has a good lifespan!
→ Quick game mode:
In this part of the Ring Fit there are 3 sub-menus:
Simple Mode: Here we do repetitions of movement or challenges against the clock
Mini Games: We play short games of different “little games” which allow you to work on certain areas in a targeted manner while having fun
Programs: In this part you can have access to a series of exercises that target a part of the body. For my part, I use the “programs” part a lot depending on the areas I want to work on, I don’t really like the “dead times” during my session and this mode allows you to do exercises!
→ The map mode:
Here you have the possibility to create your personalized Fitness program.
→ Multitasking mode:
This is a feature that keeps track of how many times you press the Ring-Con while you are doing other things (such as watching TV). This mode (in my opinion) is not very useful but hey …
So much for the different modes.
In terms of support, advice on healthy living, times of stretching and warm-ups are planned, voluntary breaks are carried out and measurements are possible (pulse, activity log, tracking of calories lost etc…). Ring Fit is not just a funny and physical video game, it is also a real ally of physical and mental well-being, since it accompanies the user in their entire process of physical activity.
Regarding the hardware, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Ring-Con. It has foam protectors that can be washed, it is very strong and above all, I was able to compare it with my pilates ring from Decathlon, the Ring-Con is just 1000 times more pleasant to use!
As for the reactivity and the consistency of the movements on the screen compared to reality there too, very pleasant surprise: it’s fluid and it sticks well to what we are doing (in 99% cases).
The price:
Let’s move on to the financial side of it! The Ring Fit is sold at DHgate and Amazon!

Ring fit adventure review
You have surely understood that I am totally convinced by this game! I find it perfect for people who don’t have the time (or the inclination or even the means) to go to the gym but want to stay in shape, it’s also perfect for people who don’t. have never done sports or have not done so for a long time. Of course, it does not replace a real coach, nor real weight machines but clearly, if we push the program to the max, that we are regular and that we go there frankly I can guarantee you that we are sweating and that we have aches !!!!
I was quite skeptical at first when I had Ring Fit Adventure but I absolutely do not regret having been offered it! It’s a great investment to get moving at home, at your own pace but with constant evolution. I’m really a fan of the concept and sincerely hope that Nintendo will continue to exploit sporting possibilities with the Switch because there is real potential!
To move in a fun and efficient way
When it was released, the game made a lot of talk. It attracted me a lot, and I got down to it pretty quickly. To quickly put it aside … But with confinement (which I respect to the letter even if it’s hard), I wanted to vary the exercise sessions at home. So I pulled it out, and I’m delighted! Like any sport, it takes some motivation to get started, and this one is no exception. But the RPG side makes you want to continue the story. And once you’ve started, you might as well continue with a more intense session with the à la carte program! Finally, I vary a lot, and I’m still discovering new features now. It is even possible to use the Ring-Con outside of the game, for a few taps on the couch. I’ll let you discover the rest …

The mini-games, very nice

The somewhat bland hero or heroine, without personality.
Running and knee lifting not ideal in apartment, but better than the indoor version
Too much talk in adventure mode
