Ring, the subsidiary of Amazon, will soon launch a smart health connected bulb

[ad_1]

Ring, the Amazon subsidiary known mostly for its cameras and bells, is about to launch a smart health connected light bulb for the health home.

In fact, this is not a first for the company in the field of lighting. Indeed, it already markets lamps for the outside. But with this bulb for our interiors, the firm is attacking a hypercompetitive segment where giants like Xiaomi and especially Philips Hue.

An interchangeable smart health connected bulb for Ring

According to The Verge, the object was spotted in FCC documents (US Telecommunications Authority) by Dave Zatz. He posted a picture of the device on Twitter.

For its bulb, it can be seen that Ring has opted for a form of reflector type. Apart from that, the mystery remains intact on the model. The FCC documents simply indicate that it embeds a Bluetooth connection.

This little piece of information corroborates Ring's choice of qualifying his product as intelligent in his file, and confirms that it is indeed a smart health connected interchangeable bulb.

Amazon prefers to keep a low profile

Amazon's decision to market this lamp through the Ring brand could signal its intention not to enter the intelligent lighting war yet. Nevertheless, this first step reveals the interest of the e-merchant for this domain, and we should not be surprised at a larger salvo of products in the future.

For now, some crucial questions remain unresolved. First, previous Ring lighting offers had to use a Ring Bridge hub to walk. Will this new product also require this gateway?

In addition, the movement sensors of the brand's old lamps work in tandem with the brand's smart cameras. Will the Ring smart health connected bulb also follow this pattern?

We will probably have the answers to these questions during the official presentation of this new model by Amazon. This should not be delayed once the formalities with the FCC are settled. With that, we will also soon know the release date and the price of this bulb.
