Runtastic Moment, to compete with the Pop Activity?

[ad_1]

After having been recently bought by Adidas, the company Runtastic has just presented at the IFA a range of smart health connected watches, called Moment, which is strongly reminiscent of Withings Pop Activity.

After a first attempt with the Orbit bracelet, Runtastic tries again to the activity sensors with, this time, a smart health connected watch. As Withings with its Pop Activity or Frederique Constant with its Horological Smartwatch, Runtastic chose to integrate its activity sensor into a more traditional needle watch. Powered by a button cell, it is waterproof up to 90 meters, and will follow physical activity (not, calories, active time) as well as sleep. The sleep function must be activated by pressing the button, damage. An integrated vibrator ensures the alarm function. The autonomy announced is 4 months minimum. The Runtastic Moment can keep up to a week of data in memory without having to synchronize to the Runtastic Me application.

Four different models

The Runtastic Moment range will be available in four models, all of which have the same technical characteristicss, but differ in terms of materials used and design. The first model, called Fun, has a small plastic screen, a silicone strap and an aluminum case. It will be available in several colors, raspberry, plum, sand and indigo, for 129 €. The Basic Moment will have the same price, but has a wider screen and a scratch-free glass. Two more high-end models (Classic and Elite) will sport a stainless steel case (silver, gold or pink gold) with a leather strap for the Classic and leather / woven for the Elite. These two models are marketed 199 €.

Runtastic Moment Basic

As you can see in the photos of our brothers Smart Health, the case is very thick, and the Moment is not really a success in terms of design. Still, the two entry-level models are positioned below the price of the Withings Activity Pop which is sold 129 €. We expect to Review these new models to get a final opinion and see if the Runtastic Moment can compete with the French giant of smart health connected objects … The Runtastic Moment range is available today.
