S-Patch 3 – Samsung launches a smart health connected patch
Samsung is no longer hiding its ambitions for wearables and more generally for the Internet of Things. The South Korean brand has just unveiled a new product: the S-Patch 3.
The S-Patch 3 would be a smart health connected patch which can be stuck on the body and which would continuously monitoring the heart rate to an ECG standard; which means that it will work very similarly to the equipment that can be found in the hospital environment. The data will therefore be extremely precise.
After its trackers and smart health connected watches, Samsung would therefore have decided to extend its range. At the moment we know very few product specifications. The only image provided still suggests that it stems directly from the S-Patch prototype that Samsung presented at CES 2016; and which you can see in the ehealth below.

Normally, the S-Patch 3 should incorporate Bluetooth connectivity. The latter should allow it to provide data in real time via your smartphone. It is also not impossible that this data can be sent to your doctor. The Samsung bioprocessor is likely to power this wearable. In addition to measuring the heart rate, sensors should be used to monitoring skin temperature, skin galvanic response and body fat data.
We had already seen comparable products, in the form of patches, which promised to provide medical-grade biometric data. But this is the first time that a company the size of Samsung has decided to take an interest in this type of product.
Knowing that the information was found via the FCC, it is a safe bet that the product will soon pass tests before it is marketed. Hopefully this time will not be too long. Personally, I can't wait to Review it and discover all of its features!
