Samsung is developing an application to allow parents to keep a constant link with premature children placed in incubators.

Each year in France, nearly 60,000 children are born premature, 15 million worldwide. Most of them are placed in an incubator or incubator, allowing the newborn, then too early to regulate its temperature, to protect it from the outside cold and to offer it an optimal atmosphere to accompany the end of the development of its respiratory organs . During this period, the child is completely kept away from his parents and especially his mother, who plays a key role in the evolution of the baby’s cognitive skills.

Provide a constant presence for premature babies

To maintain this bond between parents and their premature baby, Samsung is currently working on developing an application: “Voices of Life". Featured in a ehealth posted on the YouTube channel “Samsung Newsroom”On April 30, this application would offer parents the opportunity to show their presence by audio, at any time of the day.

With this app it will be possible torecord and communicate live with the baby incubator by sending him reassuring words, lullabies or the rhythm of heartbeats from mom. These different sounds would be retransmitted by a small speaker placed inside the incubator, excluding all high frequency waves that can disturb the child.

This application would aim to reproduce the sound environment of the child inside the mother's womb, but could just as easily be used by the father. For the time being, no information has been released regarding the advancement and implementation of this system which could represent a comforting solution for parents of children born prematurely.
