Sevenhugs HugOne, a new solution to watch over the sleep of the whole family

[ad_1]

The Sevenhugs brand is a French startup that wants to develop intelligent products and services for the general public. So, last year, it presented a new smart health connected solution to track the sleep of one or more people in order to optimize this important phase of our life. It is now available.

Several brands, not least the likes of Samsung and Withings, for example, already offer or will soon make available their sleep tracking solutions, one of the activities that we do most in our lives. Sevenhugs, for its part, is entering this emerging market and intends to defend its concept which is based on two devices and a smartphone application.

The Sevenhugs hugOne solution consists of a base which is smart health connected via Wi-Fi to the Internet box in the health home. There is also one or more sensors called a minihug to place between the mattress and the fitted sheet, at the corner of the bed. The latter, which measures only 3 cm by 3, has several sensors and records the nighttime activity of the user at bedtime. The fact remains that the system seems, at least for the moment, to have some difficulty in properly analyzing this if you lie in bed to watch television, for example, and fall asleep later. However, according to one of the product managers, it is still possible to correct the bedtime hours recorded (or more exactly captured) by the minihug.Unlike other solutions, the minihug transmits information to the base (wirelessly) only when the user is raised from his bed (and even more exactly several minutes later).

The application allows you to receive information on the quality of sleep and the time to fall asleep. In addition, it is also able to automatically set the best time to wake up if you use the alarm clock registered in the application. Also be aware that the system is compatible with other health home automation solutions such as Nest Thermostat and Philips products including HUE smart health connected lamps. Thus, it is even possible to create scenarios to light a HUE lamp to wake up or put heating in the bathroom as soon as you wake up.

To ensure optimal health, the basis of the Sevenhugs system incorporates a volatile organic compound sensor that allows you to know the air quality inside a health home. A color informs the user who must, if necessary, do what is necessary to limit the internal pollution in his health home. Minihugs, for their part, also monitoring the temperature and humidity of the places where they are installed. A database can interface with a maximum of 8 minihugs. They would offer up to 6 months of battery life, according to the manufacturer.

The Sevenhugs hugOne pack with 2 minihugs is available for around € 180. A pack with 4 minihugs is also available at around € 250, knowing that minihugs are available at retail for around € 40.
