Sigfox wants to connect the hydrants

Sigfox wants to connect the fire hydrants of cities! The company has indeed signed a contract with the Talis group, one of the world leaders in fire-fighting equipment.

Sigfox and its M2M network will therefore allow monitoring of the condition of fire hydrants in real time and remotely. This represents a new step towards the smart city or smart health connected city. More concretely, this will allow utility companies and other city officials to monitoring and analyze the condition of the fire hydrants. Ideal for their maintenance but also to monitoring the theft of water.

Sigfox Talis

The name of this offer: Copernic. An electronic module is installed on the terminal and sends SMS or e-mail alerts via the Sigfox network when the mouth is open, closed, damaged, or is the victim of a malfunction. All data collected is immediately available on a web portal. A mobile application will also allow you to access, receive and read alerts.

As a reminder, the Sigfox network operates at low frequencies and consumes little energy. It operates royalty free frequency bands and uses Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) technology. Its specificity and even its specialty is therefore the transmission of small amounts of data at regular time intervals.
