Unlike the Withings Smart Body Analyzer scale, SITU is a balance which measures nutrient characteristics foods: calories, sugar, salt, vitamins and minerals. During a campaign Kickstarter including L'goal is to raise $ 35,000, the English start-up offers the early-bird version of SITU at the price of £ 50, about 60 €. The first deliveries will take place in November 2014.

From his (traumatic) personal experience, the founder and former employee of Apple has developed this smart health connected scale with the intention of helping all people who want to go on a diet, or just keep their line. If it is difficult to find the nutritional information on each of the food products we buy (fruit, vegetables, crisps, ham …), SITU is able to determine the exact figure for each product. It will therefore be necessary to place each product one by one on the balance, which will then send by Bluetooth to an application on iPad or Android tablet (the smartphone version is curiously not on the agenda) the information in question.

The goal of the creation is to help users develop a food culture, which then allows them to understand the nutritional characteristics of each food by themselves. For this, the application was designed for teach in a fun way nutrition.
