The Skezi start-up partners with Withings to monitor patients with high blood pressure

The start-ups Skezi and Withings join in the framework of a partnership around patients with high blood pressure. When left untreated, this chronic disease – the most common in the world – constitutes an important cardiovascular risk factor (myocardial infarction and stroke) and promotes the onset of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.

These start-ups collect and process health data with different means. Withings markets connected objects dedicated to well-being and health. For its part, the Skezi company, resulting from a partnership between the Public Assistance - Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP) and the University of Paris, has developed SaaS software for collecting data directly from patients.

Collect real-life data

Together, the companies will collect and analyze data from sick people on a daily basis. This is called real-life data, as opposed to experimental data. They will be collected through two channels. The first is the BPM Connect blood pressure monitor from Withings. The second includes questionnaires sent to patients by Skezi and medical reports. They will be visualized using the Withings platform and will allow pharmacies to monitor patients daily.

"Health data from connected objects is clearly one more tool in our global approach to individuals. They allow us to measure more precisely, to monitor more sustainably and above all to reduce the burden for patients to enter certain data.", said Jean-Philippe Bertocchio, nephrologist and general manager of Skezi.
