SKIN IMPROVEMENT THROUGH LASER TREATMENT – Anti Aging

[ad_1]

Silvia Scheurwater is a skin therapist at the Van Rosmalen clinic in Rotterdam. She specializes in laser treatments, among other things, about which she tells everything in the article below.

bad skin

Almost everyone suffers from brown spots on the face over the years, but wrinkles and red vessels also increase as we get older. UV radiation, smoking, stress and wrong skincare are factors that accelerate this process and ensure that your collagen decreases. Your skin condition deteriorates as a result and the ability of the skin to recover also decreases. Laser treatment can provide a solution.

Harmony XL Laser

There are different types of lasers. The Van Rosmalen clinic, where I work, has 2 different types of lasers. First of all, the latest Harmony XL laser. This is one of the most reliable and safest lasers in the field of couperose, pigmentation spots and skin tightening. The Harmony laser is used to couperoseto reduce pigmentation spots and excessive hair and is also used for tightening the skin. The red color and vessels in the skin absorb the laser light, causing the vessel wall to stick and reducing couperose.

In the case of pigment spots, the laser light penetrates into the excess of melanin, the brown color of the pigment spot, making them lighter. In addition to the fact that the laser reduces pigmentation spots and couperose, the laser also tightens the skin. This is because the heat from the laser ensures the production of extra collagen. Scientific research shows that our collagen decreases as we age and dissolves due to, for example, UV radiation. Your skin can really use this collagen boost! For an optimal result, several treatments are necessary, which take place every 3-4 weeks.

Fractionated laser

The other laser we use is the fractionated laser. This makes tiny holes in the skin through which new collagen and elastin fibers are produced. Because the water in the epidermis absorbs the light, the old skin cells evaporate. This makes the skin surface smoother and more even (laser resurfacing). The fractionated laser is suitable for treating wrinkles, deep pores, pits, scars and imperfections of the skin. The recovery period after treatment depends on the depth of treatment and ranges from about two to six days. The number of treatments depends on the result you want to achieve and varies from an average of 1 to 4 treatments per year.

When can you not be lasered?

Very dark skin or tanned skin cannot be lasered. The use of self-tanning products is also not permitted during the entire treatment process. This is because there must be a clear difference between the color of the surrounding skin and the area being treated.

If you want to know what a laser treatment can do for you and whether your skin is suitable for this treatment, please contact the Van Rosmalen clinic for a free introductory consultation with me, or with one of the other skin therapists in the clinic in Rotterdam or Nijmegen. .
