[CES] Holi presents the SleepCompanion smart connected bulb, for better sleep

On the occasion of CES 2015, the Lyon-based company FiveFive, which specializes in smart lighting, presented its latest product, Sleep Companion, a smart health connected bulb that aims to help you sleep better.

Launched in autumn 2014 in France, the Holî Sleep Companion smart bulb is already marketed in France at a price of $ 79. Unlike most of the smart lighting accessories crossed this year at Consumer Electronic Show, this bulb goes way beyond the usual color changes. The Holî Sleep Companion smart health connected bulb has the particularity of help you fall asleep and wake up with the right shades of light. To take care of your quality of sleep, Sleep Companion even goes so far as to interpret the data measured by other smart health connected objects, such as the Jawbone bracelet, fitbit trackers, the weather station of Netatmo (read our Review here), etc.

Unlike Philips Hue bulbs –which change colors at will– SleepCompanion focuses primarily on your quality of sleep, by varying the intensity and tint of the smart health connected bulb according to your sleep cycle. A warm light that gradually turns off helps you fall asleep and a gradually increasing blue light helps you wake up naturally. This smart bulb can be controlled and set from your smartphone thanks to the Bluetooth 4.0 connection and themobile application available for iOS and Android.

How SleepCompanion works:

On the functional side, SleepCompanion also analyzes your environment, including temperature, to allow you to complete the sleep analysis using other smart health connected objects that you already have, such as the Withings Aura sensor, but also accessories from the iHealth range or the Nest thermostat and others mentioned above. The application SleepCompanion is the heart of the device, which allows, for example, those who have trouble falling asleep to launch a 7-minute relaxation cycle during which you have to fix your breathing on the slow flashing of the bulb … at the end of the cycle, SleepCompanion abandons you to the arms of Morpheus relaxed and calm.

With all the information collected by SleepCompanion, it is up to him to do what is necessary to modify the points that affect his quality of sleep. On the technical side, SleepCompanion is an LED bulb designed for operate up to 30,000 hours.
