PwC's annual health report for 1,000 American consumers lists devices smart health connected to smartphones as one of the top 10 new health trends for 2016.

According to this report, we can see that in 2016, millions of American consumers will have their first ehealth consultation, will receive their prescription by a health application and will use the diagnostic tools thanks to their smartphone.

Adoption that will work thanks to professionals

New experiences for these people that will bring a whole new way of taking care of oneself, that is to say anytime, anywhere where we are. A radical change therefore in the relationship patient / doctor.

In order to make patients want to consider the adoption of these new devices, health professionals are already offering them to use smart health connected bracelets, smart health connected scales or even virtual consultations.

In terms of security issues, these devices are of course problematic for most people who do not want to see their medical data misused or even be hacked. Companies will therefore have to put in place preventive measures in order to maintain a level of trust between them and their customers.

We can clearly see on this diagram that 50% of respondents will think twice before using a smart health connected device after a hacking incident.

according to PwC, mental health conditions cost every year 440 billion dollars to American companies. New technologies therefore have every interest in these companies to create new solutions to treat patients and above all reduce these costs.

A trend that seems to interest patients as well. 72% of consumers between the ages of 18 and 44 would agree to use the teleconsultation. A number that goes to 43% when it comes to people from over 45. However, these solutions may well change the lives of older people.
