smart health connected nails to pay for London public transport

Lucie Davis has just invented a surprising product to say the least: smart health connected nails to pay for London public transport; replacing the famous Oyster Card.

These smart health connected nails work just like the Oyster. The British student equipped them with the same radio frequency identification (RFID) chip which is commonly used in transport cards or contactless payment cards. To use them, simply place your hand over a terminal.

Apparently, Lucie Davis asked permission to Transport for London before designing her project; just to not be bored afterwards. The fashion student is also in contact with Transport for London to market her RFID nails. To go to the end of her idea, or her delirium, she even reproduced the emblematic blue color present on the Oyster Cards. This idea came to him as part of the validation of his diploma in jewelry design at Central Saint Martins.

Obviously, this is not the first example of a product mixing fashion and contactless payment. Remember, I had already presented you the Lyle and Scott bPay jacket or the TopShop bPay accessories. More recently, Barclaycard also unveiled bPay Loop; a small strap to add the possibility of contactless payment to most watches.

In England, the million bPay transactions have been reached; which represents more than five million pounds sterling. According to a recent report, this type of payment could represent a volume of 100 billion pounds sterling in 2018. The Apple Watch already offers contactless payment via Apple Pay. For its part, Fitbit plans to natively add this functionality to its next trackers.

Personally, I find the idea both brilliant and ridiculous. In any case, the main thing is that we talk about it!
