A healthy Chinese food recipe for dyspepsia

Beef stew Tomato

INGREDIENTS

1.5 kg of brisket or beef shank with bone

45 ml rice wine or dry sherry

30 ml of Chinese black vinegar or balsamic vinegar

4 ml of white pepper

8 slices of ginger

8 whole cloves

2 star anise

1 piece of broken or Ceylon cinnamon

1-3 dried chillies

15 ml sugar or light brown sugar

4 green onions

125 ml of soy sauce

700 ml of whole tomatoes

500 g daikon radish or turnips, peeled and cut into 1 1/2 inch (4 cm)

1 or 2 green onions, thinly sliced

PREPARATION

1. Remove the meat from the bones and cut into pieces. Remove the bones at the bottom of a Dutch oven. Mix the meat with wine, vinegar, white pepper, ginger, nails, star anise, cassia, and peppers, and remove all the bones. Add the sugar. Remove the dark green part of onions and tie them in bundles with string; put them in the pot. Add the soy sauce.

2. Cover and bring the stew to a boil over medium-high heat. Add 1/2 cup (125 ml) of water and bring to a boil again. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 45 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and daikon radish. Cover and simmer 30 minutes; remove cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender, about 45 minutes. Degrease the sauce and sprinkle with green onion slices.
