SNCF, after Google Glass, iDTGV opens to smart health connected watches

Just a few weeks ago, SNCF, through its iDTGV entity, set up a service for travelers to be quickly identified by competent agents via Google Glass. Today, the company announces the availability of a specific application for watches smart health connected to Android Wear.

smart health connected watches are beginning to find their audience and especially those that run Android Wear, the system developed by Google for smart health connected devices. Thus, we can count in their rank the models Samsung Gear Live, Motorola Moto 360 and the LG G Watch and G Watch R.

To enable travelers with such smart health connected watches, SNCF has developed an Android Wear application. Available today, November 20, 2014 on the Google Play Store, iDTGV Watch app allows customers to generate their train ticket and travel information directly on their watch. The principle is to enter the information of a trip in the smartphone and then receive, on the watch, a notification containing all the data necessary for the trip: departure time and train number, QR Code ticket to scan by the SNCF agent, car number, iDZEN atmosphere or iDZAP and the place on board.

During the month of December, the iDTGV Watch application will warn of the number of the lane where the train is parked and the possible delay.
