[ad_1]

A week after introducing you to Wynd in our crowdfunding section of the week, we are back with a brand new smart health smart health connected object: smartglasses this time! Dedicated to cycling (but not only!), solos already know some success on Kickstarter: presentation of this ambitious project already unveiled at CES 2016.

The solos adopt a most classic design, with a prism diffusing all the information just in front of the eyes their carrier, respecting the transparency of his field of vision. All in an aerodynamic form-factor to work in harmony with the wearing of the helmet, allowing the use of third glasses (including solar), and whose display technology is the smallest in the world. The latter is also mobile ; to be located where you prefer in your field of vision.

The gadget has a lot of features more interesting than the others, voice advice to navigation GPS -via the chip of his smartphone, the glasses are unfortunately not so autonomous that by passing through the lap counter or the integration of voice calls… Although the most surprising remains a ghost mode (yes, if, as in Mario Kart!), which, we hope, will use all the potential of augmented reality to make us run against ourselves!

But the most interesting thing about this device is its side activity tracker : he can indeed communicate in real time a whole lot of content about your workout; temporal data, speed, cadence, cardiac frequency, power (W), calories burned, distances, altitude… side securityit's a must-have: you can see what you need without having to leave the road eyes, thanks to a view LCD 16: 9 which seems about 3 times bigger than that offered by a handlebar screen.

The device supports the technologies Bluetooth Low Energy (we do not know if this concerns its latest version) and ANT +, and is advertised as compatible with various activity tracking applications whose names are not yet known. A companion app (Android & iOS) on the mobile is also present to provide a detailed account of saved statistics and change some Solos settings, thanks to BLE pairing. It also allows share its data, via Strava (an app for cyclists), TrainingPeaks or MapMyRide for example.

The Li-ion battery, announced with an autonomy of 6h, should do the job during multiple events like ski or fromrowing. The only concern is the design of the object, despite all imposing because of 2 microphones and 2 speakers included in the mount. We thus reach dimensions of 161 × 181 mm for a significant weight of 65g.

The glasses were developed by Kopin Corporation in collaboration with USA Cycling, the great cycling institution of the United States, who should take the opportunity to offer them to his team for the Olympic Games in Rio this summer. And if you can not wait to try them yourself; do not hesitate to finance the project, which has already raised more than twice its goal of $ 50,000 on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. You have until July 12 to try to get a model to $ 374 (guaranteed 1 year); a boon when you know that the product will be marketed $ 500 !
