Sony presents the Core Smartband and the Lifelog application

[ad_1]

For the launch of its new SmartWear offer, of which the Core Smartband is a part, Sony immediately wished to make things clear: With this smart health connected bracelet, the objective go further than the traditional measure of physical activity, which a multitude of competitors already offer (Nike Fuelband, Jawbone UP, etc.). For those who are disturbed by the bracelet, know that the sensor integrated into it can be detached to be simply hidden in a pocket of a garment.

The Core, or how to measure the whole life of the user …

Sony Core Smartband

Obviously, the Core will integrate the usual functionalities of most smart health connected bracelets such as the pedometer or the sleep analysis. Since theLifelog Android app which will arrive already installed on the new Xperia phones, you will be able to set goals and measure your performance over a period defined beforehand. But Sony wanted to go further, and wants to measure all the actions of the owner's day: thanks to interactions with other mobile applications (social networks, streaming music, weather, etc.), the Lifelog platform will serve as a personal assistant. By remaining vague on the subject in their presentation, Sony says that it can offer recommendations and suggestions for activities throughout the day.

SmartWear, an emotion sensor

"It may be the smallest gadget Sony has ever made, but it's at the heart of our vision: So we called it" Core ". Through the Lifelog app, this waterproof device will capture different aspects of your life. We are not just talking about movement but emotion ” (but how?) said Sony Mobile CEO Kunimasa Suzuki during the presentation.

The Japanese group has announced that the Core and the application will be available again in spring 2014, but it will be necessary to wait until the MWC in Barcelona (February) to find out more – including its price. In the meantime, all the main details are included on the landing page from the Sony Mobile site.
