Like the Google Glass, whose Explorer program has just stopped, these SmartEyeGlass use augmented reality to superimpose an image on your field of vision. For Sony, this image is in light green with a resolution of 419 x 138 pixels.

While Google Glass uses a small projector, Sony's augmented reality glasses superimpose information directly on the glasses. These 3mm glasses offer 85% transparency and therefore allow you to clearly see what is going on around you; but clearly make you look like a big fly.

So why did Sony make this choice? According to the brand, the monochrome display offers better battery life; 150 minutes without using the camera and 80 minutes using it. It’s very little, but hopefully the final version will offer a better battery.

As you would expect, the lenses themselves are equipped with sensors including an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a light sensor and an electronic compass to track your orientation. Let's not forget the 3MP CMOS image sensor. To use them, you will need at least an Android 4.4 smartphone.

If you are seduced, take the plunge. But if like me the design of these horrors puts you off, wait and hope that the final version will offer a reworked design; because let's not forget, this is only the development version. If you have the courage, watch this little demo ehealth:
