With SmartEyeglass smartwachs, Sony hopes to compete with Google and its Google Glass.
Sony SmartEyeglass smart health connected glasses were unveiled yesterday at CES in Las Vegas. The brand has planned everything and will offer its glasses to developers, along with a software development kit that will allow them to create dedicated applications for the device; even if Sony still explains that it is only a prototype.
These Sony SmartEyeglass smart health connected glasses are similar to Google Glass in their approach since once users can receive small alerts in the form of small pop-ups (heads-up display) suitable for glasses. For example, the glasses will be able to tell them during a trip if they are in the right direction.
"With this device, Sony has achieved a feat concerning the size and lightness that allow the module to be fixed to a branch of glasses," explains the company. "It accomplishes this by equipping the device to offer high-resolution color OLED microDisplay, a micro-optical unit that brings out all the screen quality potential of the highest quality, and a miniaturized control panel with capabilities arithmetic processing equal to that of smartphones. "
The display unit weighs approximately 40g and comes with a 640 x 400 pixel screen that connects to a phone via Bluetooth. Sony says it will try to start mass production of this display module in the coming year.
