Sony wants to analyze your skin

BeautyExplorer is a new device developed by Sony. It’s not a phone, a wearable object or a TV. It is a skin measurement device.

BeautyExplorer was therefore imagined by the Japanese teams at Sony and is described as a device equipped with a camera to analyze the condition of your skin. It is part of a package that also includes a dedicated tablet and an application that will send this information to a cloud that will store it.

BeautyExplorer weighs 115g, fits in the palm of your hand, has a built-in battery and a 1.3MP CMOS active pixel sensor. This sensor detects variations in light and uses an analysis algorithm applied to image processing. The skin analyzer app basically displays the data collected on your skin and presents it in an easy to read way.

So what is this little object going to see that you couldn't see with the naked eye? What is it really for? In fact, in addition to knowing the pigmentation of your skin, it will among other things analyze the skin texture, pores, moisture, fat, pigmentation, or even the amount of melanin in your skin. The goal: to be able to effectively treat your skin problems.
