Strengthen your perineum effectively with Elvie

Perineum training exercises are true, beneficial for women after having a child, and for preventing urinary leakage. However, working on a part of the body that cannot be seen can be delicate and discourage some, who would not know whether their training was beneficial or not. All this could well change with Elvie com Chiaro.

The pelvic floor muscles are located in the basin, where they form a floor, which explains their name. These surround the passage of the bladder (urethra), the vagina, as well as the anorectum. Along with other muscles, called sphincters, they control these openings, notably preventing urinary leakage. If the pelvic floor muscles get tired, the famous leaks may occur during the day, for example caused by a simple sneeze.

This is why it is beneficial to maintain this part of the body in order to avoid this kind of problem, and even to improve sexual relations. The problem is that these muscles are not visible and it’s not always easy to contract your perineum properly for it to have a positive impact on the body. The London-based startup Chiaro has been working on this problem since 2013 and launched a device called Elvie, which is supposed to help work on his perineum.

Fun and effective exercises

Like all wearables, Elvie “wears” inside the body. Linked to an iOS application, it will allow to perform five-minute training sessions, to help its user learn how to exercise and strengthen your pelvic floor. Data will be collected throughout the training already to give an idea of its progress, which can contribute to maintain motivation through a personal LV score.

The exercises are like basic games, with the difference that the control here of a jewel, indicating the muscular activity in real time, is not carried out with his finger, but his pelvic floor. The application consists of three different levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. As the training progresses, the owner of the device will be able to decide when to change the category to benefit from more suitable exercises.

Comfort and Hygiene

Communication between Elvie and the smartphone application is via Bluetooth. This remains outside the body, at the level of the rod of the device, so that the signal is not blocked. No button is found on the other part of Elvie since it will lodge in the vagina of its user, which will not prevent it from taking into account the pressure applied during training thanks to a series of sensors. Of course, the device was designed in medical grade silicone which gives it a smooth design for comfort and hygiene.

Elvie is not in itself a revolution, other devices already exist to build up your perineum, as is the case with KGOAL. Nevertheless, Elvie is three times smaller than most of the existing devices on the market. And it is true that in comparison to its rival, theChiaro's device is less imposing and probably should appeal more to women who might have been intimidated by the look of KGOAL. The majority of Elvie users, according to the brand's statistics, are currently between 30 and 49 years old. The device is already available on the dedicated website for € 199.
