The first of its kind to integrate truly successful family assistance, the system is attractive for two main reasons: practicality outside and his geolocation function. In any case, these more than positive returns are not surprising when we remember that the device had a price in the 2017 edition of CES for its innovations. Decryption of a success that was announced in 2018.

Smartcane, a French success story

The Smartcane is the result of a collaboration between two French companies: Maison Fayet and Nov’in. This 2.0 rod allows a senior to maintain autonomy with its alert button. The user only has to press it to warn his relatives who can then geolocate it thanks to the device's integrated GPS.

Conferring a feeling of security, it is this last feature that first appeals to the public. But according to the manufacturer, many people also appreciate the fact that the device is integrated into an everyday object, namely a cane. As a result, they are unlikely to forget it when they leave the house.

However, the voluntary alert button is not the only way to warn those around you after an accident. Indeed, the Smartcane has a artificial intelligence called Dring who can detect falls. In the event of a drop in activity later, the device then automatically sends a notification to relatives.

For all these reasons, 150 people are already using this cane new generation.

If you want to buy one, the Smartcane is available at a price of 129 euros on the manufacturers site.

However, you will also need to subscribe to the Dring service to benefit from the alert system. At the moment, the subscription costs 19 euros per month, but this launch price will eventually go up to 29 euros. We can only regret these additional costs, but is not the well-being of our parents worth the cost? Everyone has their answer.
