Suunto unveils its Spartan Ultra multisport GPS watch
Suunto has officially unveiled its multisport GPS watch Spartan Ultra, which succeeds the Ambit3 watch. The Ultra collection will be available in four different models: the All Black Titanium, the Stealth Titanium with black and white options.
Suunto's Spartan Ultra collection therefore offers watches that are water-resistant to 100 meters, are equipped with a color touch screen with a wide viewing angle to improve visibility in direct sunlight. In terms of multisport functionality, you will be guided by the integrated GPS, barometric altitude sensors and a digital compass. The Ultra also comes with an integrated heart rate sensor. Other information will soon be released by the brand, including what is hidden behind the phrase "a competitive battery life". Information is expected to be available in July.
Many sport modes are predefined, including triathlon, swimming, cycling, running and snow sports. Different types of training are available to suit beginners and athletes. You will also be able to see the data when you are not playing sports or when you are recovering. So you can use it as an activity tracking device, tracking your progress, tracking calories, etc. All this data can then be consulted on the Suunto Movescount mobile application; available for Android and iPhone terminals.
Other announcements were made by Suunto. The company is also working on the redesign of its Movescount web platform by adding specific sports. These evolutions are already available for existing users. But let's come back to this collection of smart health connected watches. The Spartan Ultra will be available from August from 699 euros. The Titanium version will cost 750 euros. For the heart rate sensor you will also need to add 50 euros.
