Sweet sour chicken

Ingredients for Sweet sour chicken/ 2 persons

2 chicken breasts

1 small pineapple baby

2 onions, cut into 4

2 carrots, chopped

1/2 red pepper, chopped not too small

1/2 green pepper chopped not too small

1 dl vegetable

3 tablespoons white rice vinegar

1 tablespoon mirin

2 tablespoons ketchup

2 level tbsp of white sugar

1 tablespoon of sugar cane

2 tablespoons fish sauce

1 tablespoon cornflour

PREPARATION sweet sour chicken

1 Slice the chicken breasts into cubes. Brown them in a wok with a little oil for 3-4 minutes then remove from wok. Fry vegetables and pineapple chopped briefly in the wok, then add the broth.

2 Bring to a boil, then add small all ingredients except cornstarch.

Finally sweet sour chicken

Cook until the sauce thickens, then add the chicken to warm and finish cooking. Once the sauce has reduced, finish the dish by sprinkling cornstarch below the wok through a fine sieve (this will avoid lumps) and a pinch of white pepper powder. If the sauce is too thick, add a little water or broth. Serve with rice.

Spicy Green Onion Corn Muffins Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400F. Oil a standard 12-cup muffin tin (or two 6-cup tins). In a large bowl, beat together the buttermilk, brown sugar, sour cream, egg and oil until well blended. In a medium-sized bowl, stir together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and chili powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the buttermilk mixture, stirring until blended. Fold in the green onion, red onion, cheese and cilantro. Divide the batter among the muffin cups, filling each one three-fourths full. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until browned and firm to the touch. Let cool in the pan briefly, then turn out of the pan. Serve warm. Makes 12 muffins. Notes: Makes 5 to 6 pints. Moist and flavorful. Serve with chorizo, scrambled eggs and salsa.

1 tb Butter1 c Sugar1 Egg1/2 c Nut meats2 c Flour1/2 ts Salt1 ts Baking soda1 c Dates1 c Water; boiling

Date Bread Preparation

Dissolve soda in boing water. Pour over cup of diced dates. Add butter and sugar, creamed. Add some flour, eggs beaten, then salt and balance of flour with nuts. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 375 F.
