Then, he completes his answer with "we are going to delete our comment and yours, we leave it there" (always present when updating the article). No excuse, but we erase everything. Lamentable! The exact opposite of what We teach my digital marketing students.

SwissAligner reviews on inexpensive orthodontic aligners

You will tell me but why talk about this company on the blog. Well, for two reasons. The first is that We have to correct the alignment of my teeth (this is my life on my blog). But above all, We am very curious to see this technology in action and especially the modeling part of my dentition.

So We started this gentle treatment of realigning my teeth for a perfect smile.

SwissAligner is an invisible orthodontics concept that looks like a thinner mouth guard. This involves wearing transparent and removable gutters (aligners). A system suitable for anyone who is ready to wear them at least 20 hours a day. Reason why, the practice is little advised in young children who will tend to withdraw them.

Why We chose to Review SwissAligner

We am independent, and my age does not allow me to be financially supported by Social Security or a possible mutual. So We had to find an economical solution, but also more discreet and ideally more comfortable than conventional orthodontics.

Younger, We already practiced a traditional orthodontic treatment with rings, alas, We did not follow the advice of the bar to keep a good alignment. So We have to start over. For six months, We have done several researches and We have come up with the solution for the transparent gutter. We thus discovered the brand of American gutters Invisalign®.

But the price of the series of devices seemed exorbitant to me for simple hard plastic moldings. So a complete treatment Invisalign costs 3500 to 5500 € without any refund possible in my case, because We am over 16 years old.

By consulting my groups on Facebook, We had an advertisement on Swissaligner (a nice advertising retargeting following my research on gutters). We looked on the NET if We found something on them, apart from a pretty empty website, not much …

We contacted them by message on their page and took as well a first free meeting to 3D scan the dentition.

But, We admit that free for an hour's meeting, We felt confused.

In the end, We said to myself, you are a tester then you go there, nothing will happen, they will sell you their stuff before you start, you will forget this brand and you will go for a walk to the department stores… and well not at all!

Opinion on my first Swissaligner meeting

So We gave my phone number with my first and last name and wrote down the address of Swissaligner at Paris 4 rue de l'Opéra. A renowned location that We know well for having worked for 3 years just opposite. We admit that the address is not the easiest to find without a little tracking. To make your life easier, here is an aerial view with the location:

Surprise! it is not a dental office, but an office rented by Swissaligner. This explains the lack of signage outside and in the entrance hall. But superb address.

In reality, the one who welcomes you, alone, is the boss who makes the first explanatory meeting himself and creates the 3D image of your teeth. He starts by answering my questions and visually inspecting my teeth.

On this occasion and very honestly, he tells me that the treatment can easily correct the front part at the bottom and at the top for an aesthetic aspect. But, that it will not perfectly align my teeth on the back, because We have a reverse occlusion. My upper front teeth pass well in front of my lower teeth, unlike the back where my lower teeth are more advanced than the upper ones.

Sitting comfortably in front of a Itero element brand touch screen (intraoral scanner, CE standard). You fill in your identity and contact details.

Then, the orthodontist performs the scan by filming the inside of your mouth, upper jaw, lower jaw and finally combine the two. To do this, he uses this completely painless device (handpiece). With Itero professional equipment, conventional dental impressions by molding are replaced by extremely precise digital images.

For hygiene, the flexible plastic tip of the camera is for single use. It is possible to segment the shot (the correlation of the different segments is then done) which is very useful for shooting a full arch. And lets you swallow between two takes.

Only the large size of the camera which is large enough requires you to open your mouth wide enough. We was impressed by this imaging technology that reconstructs your entire dentition in real time in 3D which appears on the screen. Some points may not be restored due to the presence of saliva. But, you just have to re-scan the scanner where you want and the image is complete. The iTero Element system is designed to capture 6,000 to 8,000 images per second.

Once this step has been completed, your scanned dental impression can be downloaded raw in STL format. Or processed by OrthoCAD software which analyzes the data and improves the image by identifying each of your teeth. It can also be reprocessed by IT specialists at Align who will clean it up of its errors before sending it to the laboratory that will make the aligners.

We note that the technological platform used is that of Invisalign outcome simulation. We ask the practitioner who confirms to me that the equipment used and the program are indeed the same as those used by Invisalign. Then, the result of my current 3D dentition appears:

You can use the touch screen to switch views and zoom, like in a virtual apartment tour.

Finally, the software presents a projection of the result for the upper and lower parts. And there, that makes you dream … but We could only tell you in a year if it worked perfectly.

Price and duration of SwissAligner treatment

He explains to me that the much lower price of Swissaligner comes from the fact that there is no intermediary between you and the product. He adds that his selling price in Switzerland to dentists is around 1,500 Swiss francs.

To my surprise, he concluded by telling me that We will receive the photos by email and the quote in order to make my decision. He estimates the full salary at € 1,600 over a period of one year. By telling me that only the batch of aligners after treatment to wear at night to keep the result are not included.

And that if We validate the project, We will have to send him a panoramic radio for which he offers me a prescription. In my case, We didn't need it, because We have one less than three months old.

The SwissAligner quote

We just received my detailed quote by April 17 by email. It conforms to the advertised rate of € 1,600 (you can pay in 4 installments), it includes:

• 30 align upper

• 30 align lower

• stripping 16-26 once

• stripping 36-46 twice (this is the filing of the teeth to avoid having to tear off one)

Do not forget that during the treatment as it will be a question of removing the gutters for lunch and putting them back afterwards, an effective toothbrush will also be to take with you (example of the smart health connected electric toothbrush from Xiaomi) .

First Opinion SwissAligner

Confused by the lack of online information, and an announcement of a price 50% below Invisalign, We was pleasantly surprised during my visit by this small structure of 15 people in total. And, even more so by the very real gratuity of this first hour-long meeting. In addition, We have my teeth in 3D.
