The 2019 Drum Horizon Smartwatch benefits from a boost of energy

The Tambour Horizon smartwatch echoes rumors that a new Louis Vuitton smartwatch is coming soon.

The luxury brand has just unveiled the Tambour Horizon smartwatch. A second generation smartwatch, which will once again run on Google’s Wear OS.

There don't seem to be any official details on the new Tambour Horizon watch on the Louis Vuitton website, but Engadget employees seem to know what it has in store for us.

While the Wear watch appears to retain the circular look of the previous smartwatch, the most notable change is hidden beneath this stylish exterior with Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor. This should bring overall performance improvements; including an increase in battery life. You should now be able to enjoy it for a full day on a single charge; and up to five days when you just use the watch to display the time.

Improvements have also been made to the display with a higher resolution touch screen, but there are no details on these screen specifications. You can also expect to find the watch in new styles and colors, including a model similar to the white LV monogram unveiled in April this year.

So what about the price? Well, this is a luxury smart health watch. Even if Louis Vuitton did not reveal how much the Tambour Horizon 2019 edition would cost, it is a safe bet that the smartwatch will be very expensive. The price should be very close to that of the first edition.

Personally, I am very fond of the design of this watch. However, spending so much money on a smartwatch seems somewhat unnecessary to me. Especially when you know their lifespan and compatibility.
