The APP is the product of NICT, Data, and AI. These fundamental pillars – e-health innovation

The application we want must adapt to the person in whom it will literally incorporate, does not have only medical content, as well ordered.

We need the contribution of new technologies, the contribution of a certain degree of "artificial intelligence" as we too often like to say.

There are therefore two real pillars that will allow the development of the APP.

  • A Scientific pillar guaranteeing rigor and reliability of the content distributed.

  • A technical pillar to address this content in a personalized and relevant manner, in a secure setting.

The scientific pillar:

A content base with 17 health topics with validation by recognized experts. The health approach is global, the seventeen themes having an impact on health proposed are:

Walking, Morale, Happiness, Sport, Backache, Nutrition Work sleep, Stress, Fatigue, Heart, Memory, Anticancer, Weight, Pregnancy, Tobacco, Alcohol.

Various verticalities complete the base:  There is the Maternity vertical, the Diabetes vertical, the Nutrition vertical with a committed committee of experts.

 There are more than 40 coaching programs, representing hundreds of hours of coaching in text, audio, or ehealth format.

It is a content base with explanations and support. The base is dynamic the same content will not be displayed in the same way for a 35 year old woman with two children as for a single 35 year old woman … The verticals can be supplemented by specific themes (for example, a theme " Diabetes on a daily basis "for our Diabetes vertical).

Specific content can be integrated very easily and the platform makes it easy to connect via conventional WebServices, to third-party platforms in order to automatically retrieve the content, if necessary.

Assessment protocols

All services are created in close collaboration with doctors. It respects scientific, organizational, moral and legal prerequisites as closely as possible.

Based on the platform, are developed “digital therapies”: these are digital support services for patients with chronic diseases with the aim of helping them to better live their pathology, to better understand their treatment, and to adopt the lifestyle conducive to potentiation of this same treatment.

Work is underway with various healthcare establishments to set up services, which will soon be certified Medical Devices; they are also the subject of clinical studies.

The protocols are as rigorous as possible: this rigor is of course found at all stages of the platform, on all of its products.

The platform is validated and approved by the mHealth Quality label.

The technical pillar

The Betterise platform is based on the conceptual foundations of Big Data, with real-time management of a large amount of information on each of the users, making it possible to offer specific and adapted support.

Massive Cloud Computing of data is ensured by MapReduce technology, in the NoSql cluster of MongoDB, they allow an ideal replication of data as well as a good adaptation of the storage architecture, and load distribution in reading data on the different nodes. This ensures responsiveness and perfect availability for all the modules of the platform.

In terms of user experience, this approach allows each patient to be profiled according to more than 3000 criteria, whether they are endogenous (profile, behavior, habits, desires or medical data) or exogenous (context, season, weather, period, geolocation, pollution ). This list of criteria is constantly evolving.

In order to create the link between the available content and the combination of criteria representing each user, a specific language allows content and functionality to be profiled.

Thus specified, each content, each functionality is then taken into account by the behavioral algorithm. Depending on the eligibility of the criteria, and various weights from scientific R&D, this algorithm selects the right ultra-suitable content for each connection to display to the user. This is how it is possible to send the right content, to the right person, at the right time and for the right reason.

This approach makes it possible to display very specific content depending on the user: a 43-year-old woman living in Bordeaux, having 2 small children, playing sports and having a garden will not receive the same content as a woman with the same profile but living in an apartment…

The language of the APP, the BQL

The technology of the platform makes it possible to translate the complexity and the specificity of each patient, and his environment, into data usable by a digitalized therapeutic process.

A specific language, BQL (Betterise Query Language), is capable of managing nearly 3000 criteria per patient. This allows the creation and management of digital support and prevention services for chronic diseases.

This is the specificity of today's medicine, its entry into the digital world of "Data Driven"
