Under development, this game aims to create and play with your friends your medieval fantasy role-playing game on PC and PCVR helmets (playable in virtual reality).

I admit having dreamed of this possibility during my AD&D games with my handmade cards and my molded lead figurines (thank you the Egg Cube). After some Basic damage dice programming and random creations of characteristics for my characters, I’m happy to see that the next generation is here.

After the launch of the incredible Demeo (but still limited in adventure and customization), here is DFD for the intimate with latest information from its sympathetic creator Khang Pham.

Innovative concept: your interactive 3D platform on PC or in VR

DFD is a game that really wants to simulate role-playing games on the board. Basically, you can play any role-playing game! You can easily import your character sheets or notes.

But from the launch of the game, Dungeons & Dragons 5 mechanics and statistics integration will be integrated. Additionally, if you don’t have the time to write your own screenplay, you can choose one of the pre-set campaigns. Thanks to the adventures in stock, the Game Master can quickly organize an exciting game, even without any preparation. You can also adapt existing campaigns to create your own quests or for enthusiasts, invent or integrate your own campaigns.

Multiplayer, cross-play PC cooperative and VR headset

DFD can be played with mouse and keyboard… or in VR with the controllers! And of course, cross-play will be supported between all PC and VR gamers. So you can play with all your friends (and strangers online).

The game should be released on Steam, Steam vr and the Oculus Store (Rift or Quest in Link, Air Link with PC)

The planned options of the game

For the first time, see, interact and wander through the worlds of your adventures. Whether it’s a forest in the heart of the elven kingdom, a dark dungeon, or just a small tavern where adventurers can rest. Create your own adventures in DFD!

Maps, constructions and 3D objects

In Dungeon Full Dive, you place and modify the different elements of construction, the sets and even a boat on your virtual board. You should also be able to import your own 3D modeled maps as well.

We will find the possibility of hiding scrolls, keys, potions and the essentials gold coins. You will carry your inventory with your finds (or thefts) in your backpack.

For the atmosphere, we add rain, fog or a dazzling sun. And even time management with day / night cycles.

Adventurers and NPCs

Really talk to all the magical creatures about your adventures. The gamemaster no longer needs to pretend. He can transform into any NPC he wants you to meet for a stronger immersion.

For playable characters at launch, all humans will be customizable. Shape your hero by creating your own 3D character that you can control during games. For “fancy” breeds, personalization will come next. Your character will also benefit from a complete sheet with all of its characteristics and the skills mastered.

You can spend from 3D aerial view of the board from game to one first person view your minifigure with the push of a button. Ideal for feeling the thrill of a battle against a dragon, an orc or other trolls.

For more realism, spellcasting and attacks should also animate as in the excellent Demeo.

Original audio

For the audio, it is obviously planned to be able to dialogue between player and MDJ, but also with the NPCs played by the master of the game.

But in addition the possibility to change the voice according to the character and to add an ambient soundtrack.

Developments according to the demands of the DFD community

Depending on the requests, updates may allow the creation of uniners of steampunk or science fiction role-playing games.

DFD will continue to evolve and continually add free content for players, even after the game is released.

For the moment a small German team based in Cologne, so developers who smell very good.

DFD was created by Khang Pham and Tom Bockhorn, both certified software engineers, but most importantly, both longtime role players and game masters of their own campaigns.

Dungeon Full Dive price and launch date

The schedule provide for an outing at first quarter 2022 on Steam and the Oculus store.

To wait, a first version beta should be available during fall 2021.

For the price, the developers are announcing a one-time no-subscription purchase for future card or figure additions. If you support the crowdfunding campaign for $ 27, and the game is released, so you will have your license free for life. You can also opt for support with participation in the beta for 40 $.

Reassuring and even encouraging, the game’s Kickstarter fundraising campaign has only 10 days to go, but it has already far exceeded its goal of $ 12,000 with over $ 159,000 raised. Enough to keep the schedule.
