The first Xiaomi smartwatch imitates the Apple Watch
In the past, Xiaomi products were very similar to their Apple counterparts; the first Xiaomi smartwatch, which will launch on November 5, seems to be no exception. According to the images and ehealth teasers that Xiaomi posted on Weibo earlier this week, it looks strangely like the Apple Watch.
The first Xiaomi smartwatch has a face with an almost identical rectangular touch screen with rounded corners. It also has a rotating striated crown button, which is located above a pill-shaped button on the right side of the watch. In short, everything you would find on an Apple Watch.
Although the Xiaomi smartwatch is a little thicker and less rounded than the current Apple Watch Series 5 and the straps are not as elegant, you can still confuse it with an Apple Watch.
The name of the watch has not yet been revealed, but 9to5Google found the name "Mi Watch" in the code for the latest update of the Wear OS app; making it a likely name (and the operating system) for the next device.
The Xiaomi smartwatch is compatible with Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth, and has an eSIM for making calls. The smart health connected watch has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor; used in new Wear OS devices.
Huami, an exclusive partner of Xiaomi, made a smartwatch called Amazfit last year, which already looked a lot like the Apple Watch. Xiaomi is also a shareholder of Huami. At present, it is unclear whether Huami will be responsible for manufacturing the Mi Watch.
As I said, for the design of the watch, the resemblance to Apple products is nothing new. Xiaomi has been imitating Apple for years and goes beyond products. Another example is the Xiaomi AirDots wireless headphones which also looked like Apple AirPods.
