The Fitbit Activity Index illustrates fitness trends

Jawbone and Withings were until now the only manufacturers of physical activity sensors to model the trends from the gigantic data recorded by their products. Fitbit is now also doing this by launching the Fitbit Activity Index , a portal with statistics on sports practices in her community.

Like Jawbone, Fitbit has a full team of 'data scientists' who analyze trends and behavioral changes over the years. All this of course thanks to the data recorded anonymously by the smart health connected bracelets of the range, like its Superwatch Surge or its famous Fitbit Charge HR. The conclusions being quite interesting and clear, they decided to publish them on this new portal called Fitbit Activity Index. We learn that only data from one million users across the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom have been exploited. The French are therefore spared.

If 70% of smart health connected bracelet owners 'walk' as daily physical activity, the remaining few percent have quite different habits from one country to another. We can see that North Americans are not really fond of swimming, while Australian and English athletes widely plebiscite this sporting activity. Fitbit gives the possibility to classify then by sex and generation the data.
